Exercise Physiologists – how can they help?

Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) are university qualified allied health professionals. They are equipped with the skills, knowledge and competencies to design, deliver and evaluate safe and effective exercise interventions for people with disabilities, injuries or chronic medical conditions. Pathology domains covered by the services of AEPs include cardiovascular, metabolic, neurological, musculoskeletal, cancers, kidney, respiratory / pulmonary and mental health but AEPs can help with any other conditions for which there is evidence that exercise can improve the client’s clinical status. Services delivered by an AEP are also claimable under compensable schemes such as Medicare and covered by most private health insurers.  When it comes to prescription of exercise, AEPs are the most qualified professionals in Australia.

Injury Rehabilitation

Exercise Physiologists play a key role in injury recovery. The most significant factor in accelerating the rehabilitation process is a more active approach to the treatment of the injury.
